Spring Update

Dear Friends,

Things are going well here in cool and sunny, mile-high Queretaro. We had a team visit us from Austin, Friday, after they constructed the first building at Koinonia Camp, for the bible Churches in our region. I only wish they had come a few weeks earlier, before Denise and our older kids froze there with our churches Awana club- its about a mile and a half high altitude. We showed them our land and our Church's land and we encouraged them to return and help us build on either project. Another missionary friend from that church came and stayed with us Thurs and Fri. So we had quite a time.

As the team was leaving for the bus station to return to the US a family pulled up to spend the night with us. Wes and Melissa are field directors with the Denton Bible Mission- Serve, to Monterey. He helped me kick off the BTCP training a year ago and went with me to the Friday night group in Salamanca. Wed. night BTCP is going well also as we march through course 5, theology. The courses are simple but very complete for our laymen 'students'.

We had about 25 kids come to the mission outreach in Unidad Nacional. Kids day is the last Saturday of the Month and a huge day here. So we are planning a big shabang there. I had been encouraging them to go to every Saturday instead of every other but Sunday the group voted to stay at every other till after the summer. Alicia, our 12 year old, is now in charge of the four and five year old class there. She's really good with babysitting and such- not sure why- hahaha...

We are thankful that a round of x-rays and visits showed no serious damage to Karina's arm, our six year old. She just had to sit out for two weeks and now will wear a wrap for practices for a while. She has really zoomed up in gym, as well as Cristianna the 9 yr old. They are gaining on the oldest 2's levels.

Please pray as I go to speak in a rural village about an hour and 1/2 drive from Puebla on Saturday. One of the church planters we trained in the Turbo course, church planters workshop, Rebekah Jimenez, invited us to speak at a public fair in San Luis Coyatzingo.

Looking forward to The Glocalnet conference in Keller, May 9-10. Thankful for the vonage US phone: our number in Houston to ring us here is, 832-285-1128. PTL for a church in Hilltop that has assigned several of the retired ladies to write each of our 7 kids at least once a month. They are writing a lot more since our kids have been writing back. They all cheer and jump up and down when one of them gets a letter. We don't get much snail mail as you may have been able to guess.

PTL for Burt A.'s donating puppet equipment to the bajio. We hope to train all the Churches here in June with him. Denise is coordinating a big regional woman's conference here in May. A group from DBC will train to start a new ministry to some 350 woman on her birthday, June 20-21.

PTL for 4 tentative teams coming this summer to help build. We need about 8 or 9. I am a little better with my back. I have been going for weekly "cryopractor" visits, as Karina calls him. Thank You for praying (send your prayer requests).
