Answers to Prayer

Hi Everyone,

Tona and I have recently been praying hard that we might be able to leave for Queretaro by the end of March and for the first time that is actually looking possible. Over the last couple of weeks we have been meeting with more families and individuals than ever before and WE NOW HAVE 75% IN PLEDGED SUPPORT. That is about $3,500 out of $5,000 in monthly support. Thank you for all your prayers for us!

We do have 25% more to raise and for those that already give (or currently may be unable to give financially), there is a way you can help us get to Mexico by the end of March. WE NEED NEW CONTACTS, AND YOU CAN HELP US MEET NEW PEOPLE. This can be by calling up trusted friends or inviting Tona and I to come share with a small Bible study you may attend. PLEASE prayerfully consider who you might be able to call on our behalf to make this mission outreach a reality.

On the side, I have included some different pictures of the area where we will be working. They are a little disconnected with the rest of the email, but I think they are important to share!

One of the many benefits to support raising is that you really get to see how God works in amazing ways. One of those stories is actually one I just experienced a week ago as I meet with a supporter over breakfast. After having shared with him about our ministry and eating, I left and the supporter I was meeting with stayed behind to pick up his things. On his way out, a lady that was also there at the restaurant stopped him and asked if the person he was meeting with happened to be Tim Bedford. He answered affirming her hunch, sharing that we had been meeting about mission; and then the lady proceded to confess that she and her husband had been praying about supporting someone new. She then asked for my phone number and last week I got a call from her and we will be meeting soon. God works in mysterious ways!

This story was in answer to my prayers that God would not merely bring us supporters, but that He would lead us to (or in this case lead them to us!) the right people. Please continue to lift up this need of support to God these next couple of months. Pray that God would bring in the last 25% quickly and that we might be able to come into contact with the right people. Also, please take some time to consider if you might know anyone that we could get in touch with.

Jack is here!

Greetings to all from Hickory Creek, TX!

As many have have already heard, Jack Micah Bedford was born last Thursday, June 5th at 5:48am. After 24 hours of labor, Jack Micah suprised the world with a full head of jet black hair. Weighing in at 7lbs. 12oz., he wasn't the biggest kid in the nursury, but we were thankful that he was a nice healthy weight. Things are definitely changing around the Bedford household. One of the rooms has been converted into a nursury, food has gone from spicy Mexican to tame American (out of necesity), and restful nights have become diaper changing baby feeding marathons. Life is changing, but life is great.

Right now, as the Missionary Training classes are out for the summer, that has left time for more involvement in other ministries. In the last few months, I have taken up a position in the kid's ministry at Grace Bible (a plant from Denton Bible) and have decided to lead a trip to Queretaro, Mexico in late July. This trip will also serve as a chance for Tona and I to see the city there to help us decide if Queretaro is where God would have us long term. We still have not decided where would be best yet. Please pray for that all important decision.

The Bedford family is still on the move raising support. Last month was very promising and some good progress was made. The next month and a half is the time where I will really be trying to hit support raising hard as I have these 6 weeks relatively free (relatively - see paragraph one). I ask that you be praying for us in the transition time this summer because I have decided to not go back to Calvery to teach Spanish. I decided that if I went back it would most likely result in staying a full year more, and our goal is to leave for Mexico full time in January of 2010. This means we will be only on support for the last 7 months of our time here in the States and is a large leap of faith going from a solid pay check to support.

Also, an exciting new addition to the Mexico Team was announced at last week's Missions Conference. Paul and Denise Lambert along with their family of 7 kids will be joining us as the new field director of Mexico for Serve. Paul has been working in Mexico for about 15 years and has some great experience working in Mexico and also has a very developed ministry already in existance in the city of Queretaro. We are exited to welcome him aboard!

The missions conference was a wonderful time of fellowship, Bible study, and reflection. Speaker Mark Young preached the work of God!!! I have never heard the parable of the Good Samaritan preached in such a convicting way. Also, it was a huge priveledge to get to see so many of God's Ambassadors from so many parts of the globe. We had a table set up outside that had pictures, candy, and some homemade chips and salsa. It was great to be able to talk to supporters, friends, and our brothers and sisters in Christ.

As always, we love to hear from everyone from time to time, so if you have a minute, let us know how you are doing and how we can be praying for you!

For His Kingdom,

Tim, Tona, and Jack Bedford

Las Buenas Noticias!!!!

I write you all to give you some very great news!!! Tona and I are expecting in approxamately 8 months a brand new baby!!! We are excited about this new development in our lives and want you all to share in this exciting step in our marriage. Nothing could be a bigger blessing than to be able to have a family, and we thank God for bestowing this blessing upon us. PLEASE continue to pray for us as a family as we need your prayers more now than ever. Pray that:

1. Tona would continue on in good health throughout the pregnancy.

2. That we could find a suitable doctor, hospital, and maternity program.

3. That God would work extra hard on Tona and I to be an example to our child.

4. That God would grant us wisdom in raising our child.

5. That we would be able to raise our support to a level even beyond our imagination.

6. That we would be able to finish strong in the Missionary Training Institute and learn all that our minds can handle.

7. We could continue to impact our friends, family, city, and society for Jesus Christ.

8. That the Lord would provide us the means to get back on the field as is possible after our training.

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support through all this last year. I pray for you all that God might work in you and through you and to represent Jesus Christ our Lord well.

For His Kingdom, Tim, Tona, and Baby Bedford

Our family serves in Queretaro, Mexico alongside the Lambert family. Tona and I train pastors and develop church leadership in the area through the Bible Training Institute for Pastors and the practice of discipleship. Our hope is to provide pastoral training to the region and with God's help to the country resulting in a revival of born again believers and church unity.

Prayer Requests

03.05.2009 Pray Hard! 5: Well, here we are half way through MTI! God truly is great! I would like to take a second during this prayer update to let you know of an opportunity to come to a group prayer specifically for missions. For those that are in or around the Denton area, Friday mornings at 7a.m. in the upstairs room of the missions office, we pray for one hour for the specific needs of our missionaries around the world. I would encourage you to come as it is a wonderful time of building up the work of Christ around the globe. As for those that chose to pray at home, Tona and I would love to help facilitate that by letting you know what some of our current needs are: 1. That we would have a health baby boy here in May/June. 2. For the health of my wife while she is pregnant. 3. For the training classes I am in: namely that I would be able to absorb the most information my brain can handle and that I would not get too worn out by the schedule. 4. That support would continue to come in. Please pray specifically that we might be able to set more appointments and find the dedicated supporters we need by this December. 5. Pray for the field to which we will be going. Right now that could be one of two places: the city of Queretaro or the city of Xalapa. 6. Pray also for Team Mexico because right now we are waiting for a new field director. We have a great possiblity, but it is not certain yet. Please pray that that position will be filled soon! Thank you for your contined prayers for our family as we continue to prepare for the field. We are excited as ever to get closer and closer to leaving! Please dedicate yourselves to pray every day. Our hope for you is that you might also be encouraged by the work that is being accomplished by us working together as a team specifically through prayer. Dios te bendiga! Tim and Tona Bedford

02.27.2008 Pray Hard! 4: Hi everyone! Here are this month's prayer requests. I want to encourage ya'll to keep praying, because that is what makes a huge difference. Nobody else can sway the hearts of men and form events the way God can. He is faithful to hear our requests and answer them. 1. Tona's interview in Juarez is on Monday, March 3rd. Please pray everything goes well and that we get the visa! Pray for our safety in travel as well. 2. FAT Boys Guadalupe is having a hard time getting off of the ground. Pray that these guys could find time in their busy schedules for a study in the Word of God. 3. For recent evangelism outreaches. That the people that I have been meeting with and will be meeting with will be open to hearing the gospel, many for the very first time. 4. For the concert in Tamazunchale. It is a big event getting bigger, and it is a little nerve racking knowing that it is probably the biggest event I have ever organized. PLEASE pray that God would guide me to make wise decisions and that our relationships with the guys going would be enriched and deepened. Also pray for those that will hear the gospel there, for their hearts and minds to be open to the Word of God. Also, please pray for our saftey in traveling there and back. 5. Pray for me as a husband, that I can lead my family with wisdom, that I would be a loving and kind mate to my wife, and that I would continually lead based upon the example of Christ. 6. Please pray for Tona in her classes. She has about two months left until graduation and so you can guess senioritis has set in. Pray that she can keep her focus and finish strong. Please pray also that we would be diligent in saving the money required for her graduation. 7. Lastly, please pray for the church IBUC. In about 5 months, they will be pretty much on their own, and it will be time for them to step up and fill positions formerly held by Denton Bible missionaries. Pray that this transition would go smoothly. Pray hard! When people pray, "coincidences" tend to happen. To the believer, we know better. Miracles happen when prayer is diligent and fervent and asked for the right reasons. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. ~ Romans 12:12 In Christ Jesus, Tim and Tona Bedford

01.28.2008 Pray Hard! 3: Tona and I are very blessed to have such a dedicated prayer support team. The plans for the next six months are finalizing and so much prayer is very needed! We need to petition the Father that He would bless our efforts and that He would work through us to accomplish the training of the church and the bringing of more people to the knowledge of His Son. 1. Pray for the need in Saucillo, Mexico. There is no church in this REMOTE area that our church has taken under its wing. There are Christians there that are young (as Christians, some are actually elderly) and have no training and no other way to get training. 2. Pray for FAT Boys. This is a group that was begun my another member of our team, but I will be beginning a new group in my area of the city, Guadalupe. Pray for the two members of the study, Daniel and Juan. 3. Pray for our Sunday school lessons for the month of February. We will be dicussing sexual purity with the teens of the church. According to a questionaire, many of them do not have any knowledge of what sexual purity is. 4. Pray for Tona's schooling, that she can continue her studies and that she can get the grades she needs to graduate. Pray that she can be well organized to participate both in school and in ministry. 5. Pray for our family, that it would be strong and that we would be able to have a incredible relationship that is based on the love that was first shown to us by Jesus Christ. 6. Please pray also for Tona's visa to come to the U.S. We will not be able to return to the US until she gets it. We just need to get an interview date, and at that interview to be approved. We need to get back to the US for training and the Missionary Training Institute in July. Again, thank you all for keeping us in your prayers. We want you all to be well informed what is going on here because this is your ministry just as much as it is ours! For His Kingdom, Tim and Tona Bedford

10.10.2007 Pray Hard! 2: Please keep the following in your prayers: Our brother Isaac as he goes into back surgury. He is 23 and a vital, active Christian in the church. Also please pray for his minimum 3 months of recoup. Pray for the Fat Boyz Bible study. Pray that we can apply what we learn. Please pray also for the youth ministry that has an 8 week series currently being taught. Pray for effectiveness and that God would be glorified! Pray that my marriage would be solid and pleasing to the Lord. Pray for the saftey of our team as we travel to all parts of the city. Pray for the growth of Ossiel and for his friend Eddy. Praise be given to God for His infinite nature of love, wisdom, justice, and mercy! He is so good to us and deserves all of the glory, honor, and worship! PRAY HARD!!!!

09.11.2007 Pray Hard!: Hi everyone! Here are some things that you can be praying for! These are just some of the things that are going on that are out of human control and that we need our Father's help in. Thank you so much for remembering us in your daily prayers! -Tim and Tona Please pray for the spiritual growth of our new brother in Christ, Ossiel. Please pray for the health of 22 year old Isaac. He has a serious back problem and the doctors don't know what is wrong. Please pray for the new University youth group. Pray for its success in reaching others for Christ and for the equipping of the saints for every good work. Also, please be praying for our new soccer league outreach. We had two young adults and about 15 little kids the first week, but nothing planned for the little kids. Week two we are planning on having a class with games and teaching for the younger kids. Pray that more might come to hear the good news of Jesus Christ!
